Stop Animation

December 7th, 2017 | Posted by Mrs Ashton in Teacher Posts | Year 4 Archive

During our academy afternoons we have been focusing on using the stop animation app with Lego to create short animated films. Some of the films you have produced have been fantastic and you have put lots of effort into taking lots of frames and adding detail.

Have you enjoyed using stop animation?

What skills do you think you have developed whilst using this app?

How do you think you could develop your skills further?

Did you enjoy working with Year 1 to help them create stop animation films?

Stop Animation is one of my most favourite things to do on my IPad. The reason I like it is because you can act out a whole story with Lego figures or whatever you want without touching them! You can use pretty much anything you would like such as Lego, clay and all sorts. I would recommend the Stop motion pro or stop motion. The only extra thing stop motion pro has is you can erase stuff that’s the only difference.

I really love to do stop animation I normally do it with Lego but you can do it with basically anything! If you are really good like on the video at the top it would look like the Lego really moving and be really realistic. I have the same stop animation app as the school one if I ever get a YouTube channel I will put it on.

I like stop motion because it is like catching your mini figures on a camera trying to do something or doing something really really really cooll like flying or something like that and also you can use anything to do stop animation and it’s cool to watch when it’s finished
