Garden Clear Up!

Massive thank you to our volunteer parents and grandparents this morning!

What a wonderful job you have done.  This area is now ready for Eco Council to plant up and use!

New Term

New Term

I hope you are all enjoying the new term so far. We have just had the first of two parents’ evenings tonight for years 1 to 6. It is always lovely to see parents in school having important discussions with teaching staff. Education is most successful when there is a strong partnership between parents and teachers, a united front! We are lucky at The Oaks that we have very supportive parents.

Please remember the ways you can support learning at home. Sharing in regular reading, supporting spelling lists, learning key maths facts and of course completing learning in research logs. There are ideas on the website and links to other sites.

Reception parents joined Miss Coombe and Mrs Martin for their parents’ sessions last week when they were shown how we teach phonics and reading in school.  Reception parents will have individual parents meetings at the start of November.

Thank you for your continued support.

Owls visiting Reception

Owls visiting Reception

Reception were very excited on Monday as they had a visit from Lancashire Hawks and Owls.  Each child had the opportunity to stroke each of the lovely birds.

This week Reception will be learning about the Owl Babies story.
