The School Day
The school day starts at 8.50am and finishes at 3.15pm. Registration is from 8.50am to 9am.
Children can be dropped off at Breakfast Club from 7.45am. Please see the Breakfast Club page on the website for more information.
Children in Reception to Year 2 have a morning play every day. This is from 10.20am – 10.40am Reception have access to outdoor provision throughout the whole day.
Children in Years 3 – 6 have a morning playtime every day at 10.40am until 11am.
Lunchtime in school is from 12 o’ clock until 12.55pm. In Autumn term, Reception are taken for their lunch early at 11.50am. Key Stage 1 are served their lunch first. The order of classes to go for their lunch from Year 3 – 6 rotates on a daily basis. When children are not eating their lunch they play outside.
Children from Reception to Year 2 have an afternoon playtime every day. This is not at a set time but at a time that suits each individual class needs without disrupting afternoon learning.
Whole school assemblies are held on a daily basis. They are held at 9am on a Monday. On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday they are at 1pm. Thursday’s assemblies are held in class. Each class does 2 class assemblies throughout the year, which parents are invited to attend. These are usually held on a Wednesday morning at 9am.
Drop off and collection
In the morning the school gates open at 8.30am. After school they open at 3pm. All children in Reception to Year 4 must be dropped off and collected by an adult. In Years 5 and 6 children are allowed to walk to and from school without supervision, providing school has received written consent of this. The climbing frame is open for children to play on afterschool. Children are only allowed on the climbing frame if they are supervised by an adult. It is not supervised by school staff afterschool. The climbing frame closes at 3.25pm so that the gates can be locked and the site secured.
