The children were very professional and sang beautifully, even making Mr Hampson cry!

The Oaks School Choir look forward to singing at other events in the New Year. Mr Hampson would like to say a BIG thankyou to all parents, carers, grandparents and friends for all their support during our busy Christmas season and wishes you all a very Merry Chirstmas and Happy New Year!

Bamboo Tamboo

Bamboo Tamboo

Our new Bamboo Tamboo after school club started last Monday.

Bamboo Tamboo is a tuned percussion instrument that originates from the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago and combines hitting a Bamboo (plastic) tube on the ground then striking it with a beater. Using just this simple playing technique it is possible to create beautiful multi-layered rhythms and through the workshops promote Team Work, Listening and Social skills. Making music in this way is fun, rewarding and accessible to all.

Aound 30 children from Key Stage 2 have signed up to the club that is running up until Christmas. In the new year we would love more children to get involved. It looks like lots of fun!
